Blue Takes Game Four

"Joe" Farrelly clears puck away from "The Big Cum".
On Thursday Night fanatical hockey fans saw Blue climb back into the series with a 8-7 victory over long time rivals Green. It was Green's Jim "The Big Cum Commerford who was the first player this season to reach the fifty goal mark but, he  missed a wide open net late in the third period that would have tied the game, so league officials took his first goal away from him and he now has 49 thus far. Younger brother Mike "The Little Cum"Commerford lit the lamp twice for Blue which pushed his goal total to 49 plus he added an assist which puts him as the front runner for the Leebo Trophy for most points in the season. Phil "Commish" Stuart did not score a goal and drops from third to thirty eighth in scoring. Tom "Shemp" Champagne got back in the race with a goal and two assists and he moves into fourth behind Tom "TC" Carroll who carried Green with two goals and two helpers breaking the fifty assists barrier. Tom "Berg" Bergault had nine breakaways and failed to convert on any of them. He was struck in the cranium with a puck shot by Joe "Joe" Farrelly of Blue while Bergs sat on the bench with helmet in hand, combing his long flowing locks. "It was a wake up call for me", said Bergs. "If I had a chance on a tenth breakaway, I'm sure I would've buried it this time", he added. Heathy continues to lead all defenseman in scoring as he added a goal and three helpers to his resume. Dan "Lucky" Luker scored for Green and won 60% of his face offs against Mark Rudz compared to 90% that he won against Rudz in game three. Lucky failed to win a crucial draw at center ice following a Blue goal which caught the Green bench napping with only one defenseman on the ice for the face off. Rudz batted the puck with his glove to speedy winger Dan "Too Late" Early who DARTED into the vacated area with the puck and shot a bullet into the net passed Kenny "Rebel Without a Save" Dean. The goal moved Early from 134th place in the scoring race to seventh.  Early had replaced Dunc "Coach" Walsh in the line up. Walsh was a healthy scratch for the first time this season. "He has to do more", said Blue coach John "Stuffy" Stevenson. "I know what he is capable of but I'm not seeing it lately", said Stevenson. Will he dress for game five? "We'll see. It'll be a game time decision", he added.
