Love was in the air at the Doug last night. Green fans were feeling the love for their beloved team as they took the series lead over rival Blue 8-6. It was the grind line that lifted the fans out of their seats. Coach Gary "Toe" Blake showed his confidence in his fourth line by giving them extra ice time and the move proved once again the genius of Blake. The line of Tom "Berg" Bergault, Phil "Commish" Stuart and Mark Rudz accounted for five of Green's eight goals and was a plus seven. "They are a checking line and whenever you get goal production out of them it's a positive", said Toe. "They may not be the most talented or the best looking players on the team, but they give an honest eighty percent everytime they're on the ice" , said team captain Joe "Joe" Farrelly. "They bring the lunch pail game in and game out. Sometimes they bring ham and cheese and other times it's tuna fish. There is always twinkies for dessert", said Andy "BTO" Bachmann of his fourth line teammates. "Tonight they brought roast beef and mash potatoes with gravy and tiramisu for dessert", he added. For Blue, Jim "The Big Cum" Commerford had two goals and two assists and he moves into first place in scoring with 49 goals and 48 assists. His brother Mike "The Little Cum" Commerford scored a goal for Green and has 47 goals to go along with 49 assists for second overall in the league scoring race. It is the first time that brothers have been first and second in scoring in the NAHL since the Philbrick brothers did it in 2007. Prior to that you had to go way back to 1938 when Pike and Barney Colgan were one and two. Tom "Shemp" Champagne who was sidelined with a pulled groin returned to the Blue line up but was held scoreless and has dropped down to 42nd place in the scoring race. Phil "Commish" Stuart had a goal and three assists and has moved up to 3rd place.
